Detoxify

Our health is something we tend to take for granted, only realising how lucky and blessed we are when an illness or ailment befalls us.

Some of the most common causes of disease and ill health of the body is toxicity and deficiencies in micronutrients.

These days we live in highly toxic environments.  Our bodies are surrounded by toxins, consumed in our food, in our water and even in the air that we breathe.

Detoxification is the process of removing toxic substances from the body. It is extremely vital to detoxify the body regularly in order to prevent illness and also to reverse disease and to ensure good health.

There are many detox programs to choose from, most of them involve restricting your diet to certain foods or juice fasts which can last from 3-7 days minimum.  Juice fasts can be costly and time consuming.  It is recommended that you detox on a regular basis, at least twice a year.

Colon, liver and kidney cleanses etc

Specific organs can be cleansed to allow for better detoxification such as the liver where toxins are processed for elimination. The kidneys, colon, lungs can all be cleansed for better functioning.

Improving the blood and lymph circulation

Improving blood circulation and lymph flow by exercising and massage can be very beneficial in getting the toxins moving so they can be flushed out of the body or sweated through the skin.

Fueling the body with micro nutrients

As well as detoxification it is vital that we refuel our bodies with the necessary micronutrients.   Micronutrients consist of the following;

– Vitamins (Vitamins A, E and D etc)

– Minerals (Calcium, magnesium etc)

– Essential Fatty Acids (omega 3’s)

– Amino Acids (Tryptophan, and Valine etc)

All these micronutrients need to be present in the right amounts and at the same time for the body to thrive and be in harmony.  A deficiency in any one of them can cause havoc in the body.  Lifestyle, poor food choices and too much physical exercise could be a cause of depleting some of these micronutrients.
